Mame was founded by the designer Maiko Kurogouchi in 2010. She has years of professional experience designing women’s collection for Issey Miyake wherein she developed her signature textile
techniques. Her record of awards include Best New Designer for Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix and VOGUE JAPAN’s 1st Rising Star Award. She is regular to the list of the Most Creative Designer Rankings of Senken Newspaper. Most recently she was honoured as 1st winner of Fashion Prize of Tokyo. “We as designers can create something new from old techniques and pass them on to the next generation.”
