Every Jimi Roos piece is made with an unique embroidery system and finished by hand to create something genuinely, authentic and inspiring.
Swedish born, Italian trained, Jimi Roos began creating bespoke t-shirt for private clients and a small selection of stores in 2011. Having worked with many distinguished local artisans, his wide range of experience using different stitching styles and fabrics led him to experiment with a variety of techniques, making each design totally unique.
The “wrong stitch” sewing technique was created by accident. By “playing” with the sewing machine, this technique has been refined and perfected to create a precise adjustment of the thread tension. This new embroidery style makes every stitch slightly different, giving each piece an artisanal touch that runs through the whole collection. This unique method results in a variety of surprising contrasts that can be found in each Jimi Roos piece: the embroidery can vary in size, from tiny dots to a totally filled surface, without ever losing the lightness and softness which characterize it. The intricacy of the embroidery enhances the originality of the designs, making them three-dimensional and creating interesting contrast between “empty” and “full” colour.
All items are 100% made and produced in Italy, from designs created by Jimi in his Florence and Paris studios, using Italian cotton thread.
